Sorrow over Sin

Heavenly Father,

Help me to be like David when he was repentant over the sin he committed with Bathsheba, Uriah's wife. No doubt that was the lowest point of his life. The reason why we know this is because he declared, "against you and you only have I sinned and did this evil in your sight" (Psalm 51:4). David broke your commandments, mainly adultery, coveting, lying, and murder, and stealing.

It's essential that I don't get comfortable with my sin, but that I love to hate it as you do. I know it's vital that I pursue practical holiness and righteousness for it's the only way to prove my faith is genuine by my works.

Your word says, "if I confess my sins, you're are just and faithful to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

I know that sin is destructive and deadly. I desire to pursue holiness.

Lord thy kingdom come, thy will be done.

Increase My Faith

Dear heavenly Father,

I realize that the only way my faith will grow is through trials. It's never comfortable, but it is essential for my spiritual development. Lord i desire to be a faithful soldier in your army; fighting a good warfare against your arch enemy satan who's also the enemy of my soul.

I thank you Lord you have equipped me with your armour to do battle everyday and to be victorious! Because of you, I'm more than a conqueror according to Romans 8:37. I also have the victory in Jesus Christ according 1 Corinthians 15:57.

I realize that trials MUST come so that patience can have her perfect work in me. This is the cost I have to pay to have an enduring faith that pleases you (Hebrews 11:6).

Thank you Lord that what you started in me you'll finish.

Praise the Lord!

Free To Serve The Lord

Dear Lord,

Thank you for delivering us from sin so that we're no longer it's servant; we're free to serve you. Help us understand that our only bondage is to your righteousness, and to live holy. You commanded us to be holy for you're holy (Leviticus 19:2; 1 Peter 1:16).

Help us to stay in your word so that the inherent power in it will compel us to sin less frequently.

Lord I want love to serve you; that it's my sole delight and joy.
Amen.

Your Loving Kindess

Dear heavenly Father,

Lord your name is holy. Your beauty and majesty takes my breath away. Your judgments are true and righteous altogether. There is none like you. Lord when we see all the calamity in the earth, the killings, robbery, corruption in government, poverty the world over, homosexuality, and just the overall glorification of sin, it's amazing how you forbear it all.

There are many that are sick of all this wickedness and wonder how long until you return to earth and bring eternal peace.

Well, I discovered that you're long suffering and that you are waiting patiently for those whom you have chosen to believe the gospel of Jesus Christ to repent, believe and be saved. This fills my heart with joy because each day that goes by is a brand new mercy upon this wretched world, a world that you're forgiving, and saving mankind from his sins forever. Praise God!

I just wanted to take a few moments to say thank you for patient loving kindness!

In Jesus name,

Amen

For Those At War

Dear Lord,

I thank you for the brave men and women who fight for our freedom in places like Iraq, and Afghanistan and all over the world. I pray that all of them will be able to return to their families soon, and live a domestic life. They make tremendous sacrifices serving active duty thousands of miles from home. God I pray that your ministering spirits are encamped about them as an unseen army, supernaturally preserving them.

May they be honorably discharged for their service and be treated with the utmost respect when they return stateside. Lord may they also return without any post traumatic stress that often befall service men and women.

God bless the troops!

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Sovereignty

Dear Lord,

Help me to trust you more when things don't according to the plan in my life. We all make plans, attempt to execute those plans, and life for whatever reason takes us in another direction. This is because you have chosen to either permit, or alter our direction for your glory. Lord you said in Isaiah 55:8-9, "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways says the Lord.  As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

You also declared in Psalm 50:21, "you thought that I was altogether like you", and obviously you are not. Lord we have to accept you as Supreme Ruler over all of your creation and you will do whatever pleases you no matter who doesn't like it. Man has to also realize that you're never accountable to him, but man is always accountable to you; we're the creation, and You're the Creator.

It's foolish for anyone to blame you for any pain, wrong or sorrow in their lives. It's because of sin that we experience all manner of grief. Often times it's our own sin that causes this grief.

Lord I've chosen to trust you even though I don't know everything you're doing nor am I required to.
Dear Lord, you dwell in heaven and you'll do whatever pleases you (Psalm 115:3).

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Boldness

Precious Lord,

Help me to be bold, truthful and loving in preaching your word to the lost. Help me understand it's your word that has dynamic power to save, not my presentation of it. My role is to simply be a willing vessel. I take comfort in knowing that those you have appointed to eternal life will believe because they have been chosen before the foundation of the world to be a recipient of your saving grace.

Eternal life is your gift to undeserving wretched man. I rejoice that you and you alone will receive glory

for this unspeakable gift of grace. Help me by your Spirit to proclaim your gospel with no fear of reprisal. I
can't be concerned what man will say, how they'll look, or what they may do. The world is lost and dying and headed for destruction with no hope.

May this be the passion of every believer.

In Jesus name,

Amen
