Renewal of the Mind

Dear Jesus,

The word of God tells me to be not conformed to this world system, but transformed by the renewing of  my mind that I may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12: 2). Lord help me win the battle of my mind! We're so inundated with so many despicable images that it's hard to keep our mind stayed on you.

Compel me to hone in on your word so that I build a garrison around my mind; that your word will become and impenetrable fortress so that I will not allow the enemy to get in and wreak havoc and assault my mind with evil thoughts. Evil thoughts turn into wicked behavior which can destroy us.

Your word also says that we're to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

I thank you Lord that I'm not alone in dealing with the war of mind!

Amen

We need Revival

Heavenly Father,

We all lose our way from time to time. But if we keep our mind stayed on thee, we can have perfect peace in the midst of our storms. Often times we can not handle our trials because of a lack of a fresh quenching thirst of your precious word. We forget how the word is our only soul food source and we must feed on it for survival.

Lord I believe we need a revival of the true gospel; we need an accurate exposition of your truth so that we can we receive our marching orders again that we have ignored. We need the truth spoken in love so that we're not listening to those who simply want to tickle our ears and make us feel good, but our unwilling to offend us for the gospel's sake.

We're too comfortable in our salvation; we need to stir up the gifts that are in us and proclaim to our young people and our centers of influence. I know that most do not want to hear what we have to say because they love their sin, but we must obey you Lord above all.

Keep us mindful of the fact that we're evangelists; we're seed planters!

We need your word fresh and anew.

For your glory,

Amen

Prayer For Purity

Precious Lord,

First of all please forgive me of my sin. Your word says, If I confess my sins, you are faithful and just to forgive of my sins, and to cleanse me of all unrighteousness (I john 1:9). I thank you Lord that your word is true.

Lord I'm grieved in my spirit because those who claim to know you are living like they're not saved. They're living ungodly, serving their lustful desires. We can't be effective witnesses for you if we're living like the devil's children. SHAME ON US!!

Lord give them the true revelation of themselves. Help us recognize that sin is deadly and that you hate it! Help us not to wink at sin, but to confess, and forsake it; realizing that if we're born again, slave is no longer our master, but the Lord Jesus Christ is.

You commanded us to be holy for you are holy (Leviticus 19:2; I Peter 1:16). That means we're to live lives of sanctification for your glory. Help us to disdain gossiping, fornication, adultery, malice, revenge, and the like.

Let us pursue holiness and call her my sister!

Amen

Bearing Fruit

To the Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords,

The scripture tell us that For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them Eph 2:10 (ASV).

Lord I know that as a believer, I'm required to be fruitful for Galatians 5 says for the fruit of the Spirit is  love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  meekness, self-control; against such there is no law. Gal 5:22-23 (ASV).

Being fruitful or performing good deeds is a natural by product of the Christian's life. Not to bear fruit is evidence of a dead faith and false conversion.

Jesus you said in Matthew 7, Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Matt 7:17-20 (ASV)

Help us as believers constantly examine our lives to see if we're being fruitful in the kingdom of God; serving you and one another.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Sorrow over Sin

Heavenly Father,

Help me to be like David when he was repentant over the sin he committed with Bathsheba, Uriah's wife. No doubt that was the lowest point of his life. The reason why we know this is because he declared, "against you and you only have I sinned and did this evil in your sight" (Psalm 51:4). David broke your commandments, mainly adultery, coveting, lying, and murder, and stealing.

It's essential that I don't get comfortable with my sin, but that I love to hate it as you do. I know it's vital that I pursue practical holiness and righteousness for it's the only way to prove my faith is genuine by my works.

Your word says, "if I confess my sins, you're are just and faithful to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

I know that sin is destructive and deadly. I desire to pursue holiness.

Lord thy kingdom come, thy will be done.

Increase My Faith

Dear heavenly Father,

I realize that the only way my faith will grow is through trials. It's never comfortable, but it is essential for my spiritual development. Lord i desire to be a faithful soldier in your army; fighting a good warfare against your arch enemy satan who's also the enemy of my soul.

I thank you Lord you have equipped me with your armour to do battle everyday and to be victorious! Because of you, I'm more than a conqueror according to Romans 8:37. I also have the victory in Jesus Christ according 1 Corinthians 15:57.

I realize that trials MUST come so that patience can have her perfect work in me. This is the cost I have to pay to have an enduring faith that pleases you (Hebrews 11:6).

Thank you Lord that what you started in me you'll finish.

Praise the Lord!

Free To Serve The Lord

Dear Lord,

Thank you for delivering us from sin so that we're no longer it's servant; we're free to serve you. Help us understand that our only bondage is to your righteousness, and to live holy. You commanded us to be holy for you're holy (Leviticus 19:2; 1 Peter 1:16).

Help us to stay in your word so that the inherent power in it will compel us to sin less frequently.

Lord I want love to serve you; that it's my sole delight and joy.
Amen.

Your Loving Kindess

Dear heavenly Father,

Lord your name is holy. Your beauty and majesty takes my breath away. Your judgments are true and righteous altogether. There is none like you. Lord when we see all the calamity in the earth, the killings, robbery, corruption in government, poverty the world over, homosexuality, and just the overall glorification of sin, it's amazing how you forbear it all.

There are many that are sick of all this wickedness and wonder how long until you return to earth and bring eternal peace.

Well, I discovered that you're long suffering and that you are waiting patiently for those whom you have chosen to believe the gospel of Jesus Christ to repent, believe and be saved. This fills my heart with joy because each day that goes by is a brand new mercy upon this wretched world, a world that you're forgiving, and saving mankind from his sins forever. Praise God!

I just wanted to take a few moments to say thank you for patient loving kindness!

In Jesus name,

Amen

For Those At War

Dear Lord,

I thank you for the brave men and women who fight for our freedom in places like Iraq, and Afghanistan and all over the world. I pray that all of them will be able to return to their families soon, and live a domestic life. They make tremendous sacrifices serving active duty thousands of miles from home. God I pray that your ministering spirits are encamped about them as an unseen army, supernaturally preserving them.

May they be honorably discharged for their service and be treated with the utmost respect when they return stateside. Lord may they also return without any post traumatic stress that often befall service men and women.

God bless the troops!

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Sovereignty

Dear Lord,

Help me to trust you more when things don't according to the plan in my life. We all make plans, attempt to execute those plans, and life for whatever reason takes us in another direction. This is because you have chosen to either permit, or alter our direction for your glory. Lord you said in Isaiah 55:8-9, "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways says the Lord.  As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

You also declared in Psalm 50:21, "you thought that I was altogether like you", and obviously you are not. Lord we have to accept you as Supreme Ruler over all of your creation and you will do whatever pleases you no matter who doesn't like it. Man has to also realize that you're never accountable to him, but man is always accountable to you; we're the creation, and You're the Creator.

It's foolish for anyone to blame you for any pain, wrong or sorrow in their lives. It's because of sin that we experience all manner of grief. Often times it's our own sin that causes this grief.

Lord I've chosen to trust you even though I don't know everything you're doing nor am I required to.
Dear Lord, you dwell in heaven and you'll do whatever pleases you (Psalm 115:3).

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Boldness

Precious Lord,

Help me to be bold, truthful and loving in preaching your word to the lost. Help me understand it's your word that has dynamic power to save, not my presentation of it. My role is to simply be a willing vessel. I take comfort in knowing that those you have appointed to eternal life will believe because they have been chosen before the foundation of the world to be a recipient of your saving grace.

Eternal life is your gift to undeserving wretched man. I rejoice that you and you alone will receive glory

for this unspeakable gift of grace. Help me by your Spirit to proclaim your gospel with no fear of reprisal. I
can't be concerned what man will say, how they'll look, or what they may do. The world is lost and dying and headed for destruction with no hope.

May this be the passion of every believer.

In Jesus name,

Amen

It is well with my soul

Merciful Father,

I want to take a few moments and thank you for peace that passes all understanding. Lord every day is a good day, and I rejoice and I'm glad in it. Your mercies are new every morning! Praise you Jesus (Psalm 118:24; Lamentations 3:22-23)!

Lord I'm not oblivious to the evil that's lurking around me everyday also, however you have giving me a calm in my spirit that I've never known before. It's so sweet and wonderful that I'm virtually at peace in every situation. I don't panic at all because my soul rests in you. My life is in your hands, and I trust you in all situations. I must do this for your word says, "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all my ways acknowledge him and you will direct our paths."

That's a loving command for me to put my hand in yours so that you can guide me everyday of my life.

King David said it best in Psalm 23, "surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Thank you Lord your companions goodness and mercy.

In Christ name,

Amen

Love Endures All

Heavenly Father,

Lord you're the one that's teaching me to love. Your word says that you are Love. Your love is an unconditional love which expands to the ends of the earth. Your love is incomprehensible; never completely understood by man. The depth of your love was ultimately expressed in the Lord Jesus Christ who wrapped himself in flesh, and died for the sins of mankind.

His love for us was so complete and powerful and all encompassing that he paid a debt he didn't owe for a debt I could never pay. That's the depth of your love that stoops down to a wretched, rotten sinner like myself. Shame on anyone who doesn't accept the Son that you sent "ABBA FATHER"!

Truly your love bear all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

Glory to your name for your love!

In Jesus name,

Amen

Prayer For Holiness

Dear Lord,

You commanded us to be holy for you are holy (Leviticus 11:45; I Peter 1:16). Lord when you saved us, you gave us a positional sanctification and righteousness

I thank you for that. We also must actively be pursuing a practical sanctification in our daily living as believers. This has to be our life's pursuit to conform into the image of Jesus Christ. Lord you commanded us in Matthew 5:16, "let your light so shine before men that they may see your
good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Lord I know that the christian life is a life that is lived out loud; not with our mouths, but with our good deeds. It's by this behavior that hopefully some will be drawn by you to Jesus; that they be granted repentance and faith to believe the gospel and be saved.

Lord help us to do this with the Holy Spirit's guiding and with joy.

I desire to be a fisher of men with the power of the word of God.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Avoid Condemning Others

Judge not that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged
- Matthew 7:1-2

My Father in heaven,

It's so easy for us to point the finger at those that are committing sin and condemn them when we should be examining our own lives. Help us Lord get the beam out of own eye so that we can see, and then help someone  with a speck in their eye.

For we can help no one see their problem when we have a bigger problem than they do. You called that person a hypocrite. In other words, we can't judge a person for fornicating, if we're committing adultery. We can't condemn someone for running a red light and we're cheating on our taxes. That's foolishness, and you'll righteously judge all sin.

When approaching someone regarding their sin, we should always be loving, kind, and considerate, and most of all in prayer. True love has concern for the sinner's well being; we want them to recognize their sin, grieve over and repent of it, and get back in fellowship with you Lord.

This is the mature approach and not a condemning one. Help us who are spiritual to prop our brothers and sisters back up and love them back into the fold; not kick them while they're down in defeat and overcome with their sin (Galatians 6:1). They're losing the battle the Lord. They need love and support from the saints so that they can get back in the race of faith.

In Christ name,

Amen

Perseverance

Dear Lord,
Help me to endure hardship in my Christian life realizing that hard times must come to develop my faith.
Lord you commanded us to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of your Son Jesus Christ. Lord you wouldn't tell me this if I was incapable of executing your plan for my life.

I thank you Lord that your Holy Spirit will guide me in my walk with you so that I do not have to walk this journey alone, and in defeat. Lord I want to please you in my flesh although it wars against my spirit and causes me to sin! I determined to win the battle of the body and the mind and subject them to your word so that I persevere and end this journey with joy.

I want to be able to echo the final words of the apostle Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I finished my course, I have kept the faith." (II Timothy 4:7).

In Jesus name,

Amen
