Avoid Condemning Others

Judge not that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged
- Matthew 7:1-2

My Father in heaven,

It's so easy for us to point the finger at those that are committing sin and condemn them when we should be examining our own lives. Help us Lord get the beam out of own eye so that we can see, and then help someone  with a speck in their eye.

For we can help no one see their problem when we have a bigger problem than they do. You called that person a hypocrite. In other words, we can't judge a person for fornicating, if we're committing adultery. We can't condemn someone for running a red light and we're cheating on our taxes. That's foolishness, and you'll righteously judge all sin.

When approaching someone regarding their sin, we should always be loving, kind, and considerate, and most of all in prayer. True love has concern for the sinner's well being; we want them to recognize their sin, grieve over and repent of it, and get back in fellowship with you Lord.

This is the mature approach and not a condemning one. Help us who are spiritual to prop our brothers and sisters back up and love them back into the fold; not kick them while they're down in defeat and overcome with their sin (Galatians 6:1). They're losing the battle the Lord. They need love and support from the saints so that they can get back in the race of faith.

In Christ name,

Amen
